Sports Medicine Internship Program

As a participant in the sports medicine internship program, I have a multi-faceted role. I get to observe and shadow experienced athletic trainers, surgeons, and physicians as they diagnose and treat injuries in athletes. This hands-on experience provides me with valuable insights into the day-to-day operations of a sports medicine team. Additionally, I am able to operate modalities and conduct therapies on athletes, gaining practical experience in the field. Overall, this internship program is an incredible opportunity for me to learn and grow as a future professional in sports medicine.

CNAs not only provide physical care for patients but also emotional and spiritual support, truly making a difference in the lives of patients and families. They are often regarded as the center of healthcare as they have more interactions with the patient than any other health professional.

Hospital Volunteering

Volunteers contribute to the quality of patient care by offering non-medical services in two areas: increasing patient satisfaction and lowering family member worry. By offering a pleasant face, answering questions, and providing instructions, volunteers help to alleviate the stress of a hospital stay.

AMITA Health St. Alexius Medical Center.

My roles here included:

  • Delivering items to patients from visitors

  • Way-finding

  • Secretary work

  • Assisting visitors with sign-in and badge entry

  • Freezing organoid samples and cryosectioning

  • Immunostaining samples
